Throwing Big with Kiefer Floreal

Throwing Big with Kiefer Floreal

TWO-DAY WORKHOP

Join Winnipeg-based potter, Kiefer Floreal, for a two-day intensive focused on throwing big, with hands-on guidance and mentorship. Learn to maximize each pull, minimize effort, and build confidence working at a larger scale.

You know Kiefer as a finalist on CBC's The Great Canadian Pottery Throw Down, where his large-scale pieces and elegant surface decoration techniques wowed judges and audiences alike.

Attendees are invited to join as Participants or Observers.

Participant ticket: Includes hands-on participation and skill practice throughout the two-day workshop. Clay is included, but Participants are asked to bring their own bats and tools.

Observer tickets: Come for just one day or both! As an Observer you get the benefit of learning from Kiefer, asking questions, and engaging with Participants while being free to come and go as you please.

Day 1

Kiefer sets the foundations of the workshop by sharing the systems and techniques he’s developed for throwing at scale, complete with live demonstrations. Learn how to prepare yourself and your materials for the challenge of throwing big, with a focus on efficiency.

Day 2

Building on the lessons from Day 1, scale up even further and tackle a personal throwing challenge with guidance and direct feedback from Kiefer.
