Introducing the Smart Bat, an innovative composite material developed by Kevin Xiem Nguyen, an industrial designer, clay artist and founder of Xiem Tools.
The Smart Bat functions similarly to a hydro bat but it lighter and five times stronger.
It is designed to endure the demands of clay work without warping, swelling, or splintering, ensuring durability and reliability for artists of all levels.
Each bat is engraved with three concentric circle for easy centering reference.
Compatible with standard 10" bat pin spacing.
Available in two sizes - 12" and 14"
TIPS:
- Apply water to the surface or dunk the bat in water to ensure proper adhesion
- Monitor the piece during the first few uses to ensure the bottom of the piece doesn't dry faster than the rest - this bat is very efficient at pulling moisture out
- Try leaving the rim and walls uncovered to match drying speed
- Throwing methods (little vs lots of water) will affect how the piece dries on it
