Mayco’s Magma and Flux glazes work with a variety of clay bodies and stoneware glazes and can be used to create textured, dimensional surface decoration.

Magma glazes have a dry and cratered finish that expands during the firing to create a textured and dimensional surface. The thicker the application, the more textured the surface will be. A thicker application can be achieved by blotting or dotting the glaze onto the piece.

Fluxes are mid-range glazes that were developed to be used in combination with other mid-range glazes to produce flowing effects. Designed to fire to cone 5/6, but can be fired to cone 9/10 (movement will be more pronounced at higher temperatures).
